Crystal Palace will try to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson in the summer, according to reports.

The Eagles wanted to bring Jenkinson to Selhurst Park in January, but the move fell through.

The one-capped England man has found chances limited at Arsenal since joining from Charlton in a £1m deal six years ago.

Jenkinson, 25, suffered a serious knee injury while playing on-loan for West Ham last year – and it has stuttered his career.

But ESPN says Sam Allardyce, who worked with Jenkinson at West Ham, will give the former Addicks defender a Premier League lifeline with Palace.

He would be competing with right-back Joel Ward for a place in the Eagles’ starting eleven.

Jenkinson has not played for Arsenal since November, when Arsene Wenger’s side were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton.
