Highly-rated young West Ham defender Reece Oxford has completed his loan move to Reading until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old, who had also reportedly been wanted by Nottingham Forest and Rangers, joins Jaap Stam’s Royals as they continue their promotion push from the Championship.
Chief Executive Nigel Howe told Reading’s website: “Reece was a player who was wanted on loan by a number of clubs and we are absolutely delighted to have secured his services for the remainder of the season.
“He is young, but hungry for success and I am sure he will prove an excellent addition to our squad and learn a lot during his spell under Jaap Stam at Reading.”
Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan discussed the prospect of Oxford’s move earlier today.
