Joe Healy scored one of his specials as Welling United came back from two down to claim a point.

Going into the game, only goal difference split the Wings and Hemel Hempstead Town, and the draw meant that the difference between them remained unchanged.

James Kaloczi should have put the Tudors ahead in the early minutes but headed over from Antonio German's cross.

German marked his debut in style moments later when he fired in off the bar from twenty yards.

Will Hoskins then netted for the hosts but was clearly offside and it was disallowed rightly.

Thomas Day had an effort blocked wide but the corner came to nothing.

Jack Parkinson then stole in unmarked from a Jack Jebb free kick and did exactly what the text books say in heading it down but Laurie Walker got across to make a brilliant save.

Jordan Parkes had a shot saved comfortably by Calum Kitscha before the Tudors doubled their lead. Jeffrey Monakana was adjudged to have brought down Joe Howe and Parkes sent Kitscha the wrong way with his penalty.

It could have been worse for Welling but for a great save from Kitscha when Hoskins got clean through.

At the break Welling made a double change but shots from Day and Hoskins both needed saving before Welling came back into the game.

Archie Johnson put over an excellent cross that Tom Bradbrook headed home to pull one back

Then Healy thought that he had levelled from a pull back from Eli Phipps but Walker made another great save.

Walker saved from Parkinson again when he got on the end of another Johnson cross but the Hemel custodian then blotted his copybook.

Trying to clear from out wide, he found Healy just inside the Hemel half and after setting his sights, Welling's leading goalscorer launched it into the unguarded net.

Monakana fired just over then Healy's cross eluded Bradbrook as Welling looked to push home the change in momentum.

Bradley Goldberg was next to come close when his shot was deflected just past the post then Phipps went well wide with an ambitious effort.

How Welling didn't go ahead in their next attack is a mystery as the Tudors managed to scramble off the line three times.

However, having escaped, Hemel had a great opportunity and Kitscha made a fantastic save via the post from Howe.

Spencer McCall shot well over then Parkes had a shot deflected wide.

Scott Shulton was also off target then Connor Dymond blocked German's shot on the line.

Christian Nanetti came on as a substitute for Monakana and thought that he had earned Welling a penalty when shoved over in the area but the referee decreed that he had dived and cautioned him before bringing the game to a close..

Welling United: Kitscha, Dymond, Johnson, Durojaiye, Coyle, Parkinson, Monakana (Nanetti 86), Healy, Bradbrook, Jebb (Goldberg 46), Gayle (Phipps 46). Subs not used: Richards, Francis.
