After seven consecutive victories, Welling United crashed to defeat at Hemel Hempstead Town.

Caretaker Welling managers made a change to thee team and Christian Nanetti was left out with Dan Walker replacing him.

Once the game started, the Tudors came out with more urgency and took just seven minutes ti go ahead.

Having been awarded a free kick by a very excitable referee, Hemel went ahead in the seventh minute. Jordan Parkes curled the free kick around the wall beating Harry Girling inside the post.

Jonathan McNamara, who had gone down for the free kick, slumped to the ground again and was replaced by Rohdell Gordon.

Supporters of the Tudors were cheering again soon after when Jake Robinson netted, but he was well offside when the ball was played through.

George Oakley then became the first player to be cautioned by Savvas Yianni. It was not a foul worthy of a booking but it set the standards, and booking after booking followed.

James Kaloczi then floated an effort over against an out of sorts Welling team.

Eventually, they did create an opportunity but Jamie Butler was equal to it as he tipped Oakley's header over.

Walker then missed a great chance when Adam Coombes crossed but he went down onto his knees and headed over when he might have stayed upright to put in an effort with his foot.

Coombes then blasted a free kick high and wide after a shocking foul by Kyle Connolly which, surprisingly, did not earn him a yellow card.

One more chance came and went for Welling before the break but Rickie Hayles headed wide.

After the interval, the Tudors started to enjoy more of the game. First Rohdell Gordon had a chance half saved but Robinson was unable to finish.

Then Robinson cut in and shot but Harry Girling made a good save.

Sean Francis headed wide from Sam Hatton's free kick but that was a rare Welling attack as Hemel Hempstead looked for the crucial second.

Robinson continued to worry the Welling defence and got clear and rounded Girling but Hayles got back to clear off the line.

Matt Saunders fired over after Welling failed to clear their lines effectively.

Then it was Parkes' turn to test Girling again but the goalkeeper on loan from Millwall tipped over.

Parkes tried his luck again but fired his free kick over.

Eventually, the second came with fifteen minutes remaining as confusion between Hayles and Girling allowed Robinson to steal in for his ninth goal in five games and his eighteenth of the season.

He got in once more but was foiled by another good Girling save as the Tudors completed the double over Welling.
