DEFENDER Ledley King has spoken out about his latest injury nightmare, after seven months out of action.

The England defender, who is king crock of White Hart Lane, has been fighting his latest battle to overcome a groin strain. Last weekend, he took another step to recovery by playing the whole of the 2-0 win over Euro rivals, Liverpool.

“It’s been seven months and a nightmare. I wasn’t sure whether or not to leave it until next season or try this game but we decided to give it a go and it worked out in the end," said King.

“It was niggling away and then it became a bigger problem. I wasn’t sure when I was going to be back because it kept dragging and dragging.”

A measured display by him at Anfield last weekend saw Liverpool thwarted in their own back yard.

"I thought the team were brilliant," said King.

"It’s a tough place to go, especially with the way they have been playing of late with a new manager and it was important we started the game on the front foot."

"We got off to a good start, they put pressure on towards the end but we scored goals at the right times and it was a great team effort and we held on."
