It was another successful weekend for the East London Boxing Academy, with two of their teenage fighters securing victories at the West Ham and Fight for Peace show.

12-year-old Saad Ali was first up against Jedi Stevens and suffered a disappointing start, losing the first round to the Earlsfield Amateur Boxing club fighter.

But after listening to some advice from coach Kam Iqbal, the East London boxer showed great character as he fought back to claim the victory on a split points decision, having won the final two rounds of the bout.

East London’s Eden Ford would follow on from Ali’s success in his fight as well, as he secured the club’s second victory of the day against Joe Haynes.

In the end, Ford was just too strong for his opponent, forcing standing eight counts in each round, meaning he was handed the victory thanks to a unanimous decision.

The news comes just a week after East London’s Uzair Maqbool, Zeeshan Ali and Patrick Joe all won their fights at the Dagenham Boxing Club show, meaning all five of the academy’s boxers have won their respective bouts during the last fortnight.
