Enfield Town completed a league double over Worthing last weekend winning 3-1 at Woodside Road.

The first action of the afternoon came when Worthing’s debutant keeper Kieron Thorp made a fine reflex save in the ninth minute.

Jon Muleba charged down the right and crossed low for Mickey Parcell, whose first time effort was brilliantly turned behind by the former Eastbourne Borough man.

Chances came from both sides but it was not until the half hour mark when Enfield Town took the lead.

Scott Shulton picked the ball up in a central position and advanced past Brannon O’Neill before unleashing an arrow of a shot that found the back of the net via the post.

Enfield should have made it 2-0 just before the break when Karl Oliyide pulled the ball back for Bobby Devyne but he couldn’t quite make sufficient contact.

The Rebels’ Louis Clark almost gained the equaliser when he got behind Harold Joseph and hit a low cross but Nathan McDonald was equal to it.

Town doubled their lead immediately after the restart when Tyler Campbell skipped down the left and his cross fell to Billy Crook to side-foot home.

Enfield scored their third in the 58th minute when Oliyide was on hand to turn in a Crook free-kick to effectively seal the points.

On the 67th minute, Shulton and Worthing's David Ajiboye were both red carded by the referee for a foul and retaliation respectively.

Worthing gained their consolation goal when Lloyd Dawes headed home from a Aaron Hopkinson free-kick.

As the game continued, Town had more chances to add to their goal tally but failed to do so with Tyler Campbell firing over from a Crook pass and an Oliyide shot safely gathered by Thorp.

Devyne had a good run which ended with him shooting narrowly wide before Parcell looked to have been upended in the home box but the referee booked him for simulation as the Towners took all three points.
