It's the penultimate week of the league season in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance divisions one and two and the champions have been decided in both divisions, with Bellegrove Social Club and Sharks finishing top of their respective divisions and unbeaten in the process.

Sharks top Division Two with a, 10-5 victory over Academicals and earn promotion after their first season in the SLKPA winter league.

The damage was done in the first set taking it, 4-1, however Academicals played well and fought hard but it wasn’t quite enough, as Sharks won both the next two sets,3-2 to keep up their unbeaten streak.

Chris Bracey and Gary Mason kept Academicals in the match, both winning two of their three frames, with Mason’s including a fine clearance in his second frame.

Sharks Captain, Kevin Dempsey led from the front with an unbeaten hat-trick and he was joined by Chris Mackenzie on the same score.

Fox & Hounds needed a big win to hold onto second place and they achieved just that with a 15-0 whitewash over Greyhound Elite but they were helped by the fact that Greyhound only had three players.

Obviously all five of Fox’s players won all three of their frames but that was with the freebies, the players who actually played and won were, Les Ryan, winning the only frame he played and Neil Shelton, Alan Dolan, Kerry Wyatt and Clive Forrest, all victorious in the two frames they played.

As Fox have played a game more they now have to wait until next week to see if they will join Sharks in Division One next season or whether it will be Rose Inn, who are now eleven points behind them.

The first two sets finished tied at five all, with Rose Inn winning the first and Bellegrove Flyers the second by the same, 3-2 score line but Rose put their foot on the gas in the third set, winning the first four frames, before Flyers took the last frame for an overall, 9-6 triumph for Rose.

Dean Greany-Parr and Keith Mitchell were drawn against each other in all three sets and it was Greany-Parr who was on fire, winning all three frames which included a break and dish in the last set, described by Mitchell as, “awesome” and all he could do was, “watch and applaud.”

Rose Captain, Neil Mundy chipped in with a win from his only frame and the only other unbeaten player was Flyers’ Richard Marsh, who won the last frame of each set.

So Rose Inn need at least eleven points next week to steal the final automatic promotion place from Fox & Hounds but they are playing the division champions, Sharks who will be looking to uphold their unbeaten season.

Bellegrove Social Club will also be looking to win SLKPA Division One with an unbeaten record, after they were crowned champions this week with a win over their sister team, Bellegrove A.

It was a comprehensive victory for the champions, who ran out 12-3 victors, with Dave Jandu and Steve Knight both winning all three of their frames.

This win puts them just out of reach, sixteen points ahead of their nearest rivals with only fifteen left to play for.

Glenmore Arms took a huge step towards automatic promotion with a massive, 12-3 victory over North Heath Social Club, which raises them from fourth to second.

It was an amazing all round team performance but Alastair Ladd and Lewis Hearn pulled out all the stops, each winning three out of three.

CSC Mr's & Miss Q's have been in the promotion places all season but dropped to fourth this week after going down to Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, who are in third.

This was a real see-saw match with CSC taking the first three frames before Dan O’Rourke and Steve Unwin steadied the ship, bringing the score back to, 3-2.

Rack Pack won the second set, 4-1 to go, 6-4 up but CSC hit back with the next three frames to gain a one frame advantage, however Tony Frost levelled the scores and Ernie Wellhausen won the final frame decider to give Rack Pack the, 8-7 victory.

Ross Webster was CSC’s only unbeaten player, winning his only frame but Rack Pack’s Wellhausen went one better with an unbeaten brace.

Foots Cray Social Club picked up a walkover win against Royal Oak Addicks but it wasn’t enough to stop them being relegated along with their would be opponents.

The final week of this division is going to be one to keep an eye on.

North Heath and Bellegrove A battle each other to avoid the relegation play-off spot, with North Heath looking to gain five points on their opponents.

At the top, Bellegrove Social Club may have secured promotion but it is still a three horse race for the one remaining automatic promotion place and the play-off spot, between Glenmore Arms, Rack Pack and CSC.

It's going to be difficult for CSC, who play the champions but the other two face the two already relegated teams and with only four points separating the teams, points will be at a premium.

There was a bottom of the table clash in the SLKPA Premier Division, as bottom team, Crayford Social Club Rugrats played hosts to second bottom, Falconwood Social.

Before this match there was fourteen points between the two teams but this game was much closer than the difference suggests, going right down to the wire.

The previous game between these two finished, 8-7 to Rugrats with Scott Shephard winning the deciding frame and this match had a deja vu moment, as he did exactly the same in this match.

Just five points ahead of Falconwood were Eltham Terrace Rovers but they pulled off a shock win this week against league leaders, Eltham Terrace Club A.

Terrace absolutely smashed Rovers earlier in the season, 13-2 but it was a much closer affair this time round despite the seven places and 38 points between them.

Rovers took the first set, 3-2 but Terrace tied the match by winning the second set by the same score, secured by a break and dish from Dave Rawlinson.

Four frames later and the teams still could not be separated, sending the match into a late night, final frame decider, which Chris Hobbis held his nerve to win and give Rovers the, 8-7 triumph.

Rawlinson went on to win a frame in the final set for his unbeaten brace but Rovers’ Ryan Francis went one better with three out of three.

This win lifted Rovers out of the relegation play-off place by two points, with Eltham Terrace Nuthouse replacing them, after they were beaten by third placed, Falconwood Club.

Louis Wilbourne won the first frame for Nuthouse but they failed to win another frame in the set, as Falconwood took it by 4 frames to 1.

The second set was a bit closer, swaying one way then the other, but Falconwood still edged it, 3-2 and they went on to take the first four frames of the final set, before Craig Jones won the last frame, giving Falconwood the set, 4-1 and the match, 11-4.

Stacy Redman finally found his form to score three out of three for the first time this season and he was joined by Kieran Evans, although all six players recorded at least one victory.

Hustlers A are now just two points ahead of Falconwood after their narrow victory over Bellegrove.

This was a game played to an extremely high standard, with Bellegrove taking a, 6-3 lead, however Hustlers fought back hard to level the match at seven all and win the decider for an , 8-7 victory.

Pickwick swapped places with Hotshots, after a, 9-6 victory leapfrogged them into fourth.

Andy Breen played a great fudge frame for the Pickwick in the second, on his way to an unbeaten hat-trick and he was joined by Mark Brinkley, with Martin Storey also unbeaten with two frame wins.

Hotshots’ Danny Kelliher was in sparkling form, performing a break and dish and a dish from a dry break and Richard Chapman got in on the break and dish act with one in the last frame.
