Spotted Poole beach volleyball player Zara Dampney among the hundreds of excited Team GB athletes at the Olympic Stadium opening ceremony last night.... I'll be back later with updates from the women's volleyball. In the meantime, enjoy the men's road race with Mark Cavendish aiming to secure an opening gold medal for Team GB.

Morning everyone. After last night's fantastic opening ceremony, the action begins today.
It's a fairly quiet day for our Olympians, although tomorrow promises to be action-packed.
We will have men's volleyball (Poole's Dan Hunter), women's beach volleyball (Poole's Zara Dampney), women's match racing (Poole's Lucy Macgregor, Annie Lush and Kate Macgregor), eventing (Sturminster Newton's William Fox-Pitt), men's handball (Bournemouth's John Pearce and Sway's Dan McMillan) and Star / Finn class sailing (Lymington's Ben Ainslie and Sherborne's Andrew Simpson.
So it's the calm before the storm...!
