Brockleians have gone nineteen points clear of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Premier Division as they extend their unbeaten run to thirteen games.
This week Bellegrove Social Club A were the unfortunate ones, although they did surprisingly give the league leaders a run for their money as they only won by 8 frames to 7.
Another surprise came at The Pickwick where second placed Rileys A were the vistors.
Gary Mason was the home side’s saviour as he took the final frame decider with a wonderful dish for his third frame of the night to make the score 8-7.
Rileys Woolwich took full advantage of their neighbour’s loss by ending Erith Snooker Master 8’ers three match unbeaten run.
Rileys took the first set by four frames to one but debutant John Walters won his first ever frame to bring it back to 4-2.
Rileys went on to win the next six frames to seal the victory but they didn’t have it all their own way as Walters almost made it a double against rankings leader Tony Halpin in a close match but Halpin just nicked it for his third frame of the night.
George Covington joined Halpin on three victories as did Clive Black to make the overall score 11-4 taking Rileys into second place by two points.
Darren Porter’s three out of three helped Brockleians Choppers to a rare win by 10 frames to 5 over bottom of the table Our Lady of the Rosary.
In the SLKPA Division One White Hart have secured promotion and are ever so close to securing the championship after a 12-3 victory over New Eltham Social Club.
The leaders won the first ten frames with Scott Shephard and Alex Thompson both earning three out of three, with Dan Fenech, Ian Cruwys and Ernie Wellhausen all losing one of their three frames.
It’s below them where the race is really on and Rileys Rovers made second place their own with an impressive 10-5 victory over Kings Arms who were only a point behind them.
Rileys lost the first frame but went on to win the next five to set up the win, they then won three of the next four to seal the deal.
Grant Bedford played well to win all of his three frames, as did Geoff Evans for both of his.
Clive Forrest was Kings Arms best player winning his two frames.
Fox under the Hill took third as they beat the team one point behind them, Glenmore Arms A by the odd frame 8-7, despite Alan Enever’s two out of two for Glenmore.
This sets up an interesting match next week as Rovers travel to Fox.
Bellegrove Sharks earned a shock victory against the Beech Tree Nuthouse by 8 frames to 7.
They took the first set 3-2 but the Nuthouse brought it back by winning the second 5-0 before the Sharks returned the compliment in the final set for their fourth win of the season.
Pickwick Academicals go into second place in the SLKPA Reserve League by beating The Crown by 8 frames to 4.
Chris Bracey was potting well for The Ackies winning three out of three, as did Dean Williams.
Shaun Shephard was in fine form winning three out four as White Hart Reserves make it a double top for the Orpington based pub as they beat Royal Standard 8-4 to stay top of the Reserve League.
