Fernando Forestieri has followed Daniel Pudil to Sheffield Wednesday, joining on a permanent basis after the Czech defender joined the Owls on a season-long loan earlier today.

The Italian had been linked with Leeds United in the last week with reports suggesting Forestieri was free to discuss terms with the Yorkshire side after a fee had been agreed.

However, after Pudil's season-long loan move to Wednesday was confirmed earlier today, Forestieri has also joined the Yorkshire outfit on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Forestieri, 25, had been pictured at Hillsborough earlier today with the Hornets confirming the attacker's departure prior to kick off at Manchester City this afternoon.

Forestieri made his first start of the new season in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Preston North End in the League Cup.

In total, Forestieri made 91 appearances and scored 21 times for the Hornets after initially moving on loan from Udinese in the summer of 2012.

He became the first player to move permanently when he signed a long-term contract at Vicarage Road in January 2013.
