It was a team performance that fired Watford to a 2-0 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion and, ultimately, a return to the Premier League but there were a number of key individual displays that stood out in the victory.
Skipper Troy Deeney again led from the front with his latest showing of total commitment, scoring the opening goal and setting up Matej Vydra for the second in injury time after Heurelho Gomes had produced a superb save to deny Craig Mackail-Smith and keep the Hornets a goal to the good.
In front of the Watford goalkeeper, Craig Cathcart again delivered another solid and unfussy display, as did Ben Watson in the midfield engine room.
