West Ham United’s Mark Noble has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2020.

Noble became West Ham's record Premier League appearance maker after playing in his 205th game against Newcastle United in November.

The 27-year-old made the step up from thr Hammers' Academy in 2004 and has gone on to become vice-captain at Upton Park.

Speaking to club website, Noble said: “I’m very happy with the contract and very grateful for the chairman for giving me it and I’m looking forward to the next five years.

“I love playing football and I love playing for the club so to be rewarded with a new five-and-a-half year contract is fantastic.

“In football you don’t get any younger and this is great for me and my family because it gives us security for the rest of our lives.”

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce spoke glowingly of Noble during his pre-match press conference this morning and said: “Mark Noble is West Ham born and bred, he’s been here all his career. Extending his contract is good for everyone.

“He loves the area, he loves the fans and he’s West Ham through and through so it’s great news.”

With his existing deal set to expire in the summer, Noble’s future at the club was a topic of speculation during the January transfer window.

The West Ham fan has scored 34 times for the club – becoming a fan favourite in the process – and is delighted to have secured his future in manager Sam Allardyce’s plans.

He explained: “I always give 100% in every game I play, even if it’s not enough. As a West Ham fan, I know we’ll lose games like everyone does, but I’m settled, I’m happy and that’s when I play my best football.”
