Watford have sold out their 6,000 ticket allocation for their FA Cup third round tie with Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side will travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, January 4. The match will kick-off at 4pm.
Tickets for the contest went on sale on Friday and the Hornets had sold 3,000 by Saturday night. A further 2,500 had been purchased by Monday before an additional 500 tickets went on sale at midday today. They were bought within an hour.
Watford took a risk in electing to receive 6,000 tickets after Chelsea offered the Hornets three options.
The Golden Boys could have elected to take an initial 1,500 tickets and had the club not sold that number, they could have returned their remaining tickets to Chelsea.
Watford also had the option of taking 3,000 or 6,000 tickets for the game on the proviso that the club would not be able to return any unsold tickets to the Blues.
The decision to receive 6,000 tickets was a major factor in the Hornets allowing supporters to buy four tickets per fan ID.
