Watford Under-18s striker Michael Folivi reached the 20-goal landmark during Saturday's 4-1 win over Cambridge United - less than four months into the season.
Dennon Lewis' opened the scoring for the Hornets inside five minutes at London Colney but a lapse in concentration by their defence allowed Cambridge to go into the break level.
Folivi regained the lead early into the second half and after Ogo Obi found the top corner for 3-1, his strike partner made it 20 for the campaign in emphatic fashion late on.
Head of coaching and interim youth manager Barry Quin told Watford's website: "It might sound strange but it almost seems like we scored too early. We scored then created a couple of good chances and thought it might have been double figures. They came back but eventually we controlled the game the way we wanted to."
Watford Under-18s: Ammann; Eleftheriou, Stevens (Kyprianou 72), Rowan, Martin; Lewis, Makaka, Stewart, Otudeko (Cook 55); Folivi, Obi.
