Darts fans can book a date with world champion Michael van Gerwen next year when he returns to The Valley for the fourth staging of the popular Charlton masters event.

Dutch oche sensation van Gerwen is headlining a four player tournament on February 13 when amateur players will also get a chance to take on the professionals.

Joining the world number one is former Premier League star and world championship finalist Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton, alongside darts legend Bobby George, who is well known as ‘The King of Bling’, and Andy ‘Rocky’ Jenkins.

Having just clinched his maiden world championship title on his visit to The Valley last February, van Gerwen has gone on to enjoy a fantastic year.

The Dutch ace has won the European championship, world Grand Prix, World Cup, Dubai masters, Singapore masters and reached the finals of both the Premier League and World Matchplay.

And ‘Mighty Mike’ has expressed his delight at returning to Charlton.

He said: “I was really pleased when I heard I would be playing in the Charlton masters again.

“I really enjoyed the event last year.

“The crowd were fantastic and we had lots of fun so I’m sure it will be just as good, if not even better this time around.

“Over the last year, my game has continued to improve and I have consolidated my place as number one in the world, so I am looking forward to showing the Charlton fans what I can do again.”

A VIP reception is available for VIP ticket holders, including an exclusive meet and great session with all four players.
