The second week of the South London  & Kent Pool Alliance winter season and it will be one that the Bellegrove Social Club will want to forget, as all three teams based there suffered big defeats.

The biggest defeat came in Division One, where Royal Oak Addicks shocked many by beating Bellegrove Social Club 11-4, to make up for last week's big loss.

Elsewhere in the division, both Eltham Terrace teams, Rovers and Nuthouse faced each other, after both winning last week.

As always with these two sides, it was a close match that could have gone either way and at the end of the second set they were locked at five all.

Lester Barrow won his third frame of the night, to remain unbeaten for the season and put Nuthouse ahead but three on the spin from Rovers gave them the match before Shaun Shephard won the final frame to make the final score 8-7 in Rovers favour.

Rovers duo Darren Porter and Lee Osborn joined Barrow on three out of three to help Rovers to the top of the table, as the division's only unbeaten team.

Glenmore Arms A bounced back from last week's defeat to beat Fox & Hounds 11-4 and join the two Eltham Terrace teams on 17 points.

The first set was won by Glenmore 4-1 but Fox closed the gap to just two frames by winning the second set 3-2, however Glenmore turned on the style in the final set with a 5-0 whitewash, to make the final score 11-4.

It was a great all round team performance from Glenmore, with Paul Thomas taking all three frames and David Holpin, Tony Stevens, Alan Rothwell and Jeff Bailey all winning two of their three frames.

Bellegrove A from SLKPA's Division Two went down 10-5 to new boys Rileys Sharpshooters.

The first set could have gone either way but Sharpshooters took it 4-1.

Bellegrove fought hard and won the second set 3-2, however the Sharpshooters fired themselves to victory with another 4-1 win in the final set.

It was a night for the Mitchell's as Bellegrove's Keith scored two out of three but Sharpshooters Dave went one better with all three, including a fast paced break and dish.

There was also some fantastic play from Stephen Craig, who was unbeaten again on three out of three.

Plumstead Radical Club Rebels became the only unbeaten team in Division Two with a 10-5 win against Glenmore Arms II.

The win was never in any doubt, as Rebels won the first set 4-1 and went on to take the next two by 3 frames to 2.

Rebels Tony Stork won both of his frames but Paul Rowlinson went one better with a hat trick.

Lord Herbert left White Hart rooted to the bottom of the table after an 11-4 victory over them.

White Hart had a mountain to climb as they only had four players but Andy Rennie did his best to drag his team through by winning all three of his frames.

Lord Herbert's Bill Mossom also won three out of three and Billy Russell won both his frames.

In the Premier Division Bellegrove also met opposition from Rileys, in the form of Hotshots and they faced the same fate as the second division team, a 10-5 loss.

Hotshots really lived up to their name in this tough fixture with Danny Kelliher and Robbie Robb winning all three frames and Richard Chapman both of his.

Pickwick kept up their early season form with a 10-5 triumph over North Heath Social Club, to stay top of the table.

North Heath played well and fought hard, none more so than Dave Selby, who won all three of his frames but Pickwick were just too strong, especially Ash Hall who finished on two out of two.

While Pickwick are riding high at the top their other team, Pickwick Academicals are languishing at the bottom, after their second big loss in a row.

Academicals did slightly worse than last week, with Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats inflicting a 13-2 defeat.

If it wasn't for the Levingbirds Academicals  may not have had any frames, as Donna and Graham won both their team's frames, with Donna producing a great clearance to win her frame.

Alan Enever was unbeaten for the second week running, with three out of three, also unbeaten this week were Steve Gibson and Ian Cruwys, each winning two frames.

It was a much closer affair at O'Connors, as they just edged an 8-7 victory against Eltham Terrace Club A.

As the score suggests it was a close match and no players went unbeaten but Dan Foley for Eltham Terrace and O'Connors Joe Kane both achieved a break and dish.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack are finding the going tough in the Premier Division, as they went down to their second 11-4 defeat in a row.

This week's victors were Radical Club Rebels, with Peter Wells unbeaten on two out of two and Declan Kelly going one better with all three frames won.
