Old Loughtonians Ladies rose to seconds in the East Women’s League Premier with a 7-2 thrashing of Norwich Dragons.
An aggressive opening 15 minutes saw Loughts race into a 3-0 lead. First Miranda Weeks pounced on a rebound to open the scoring, before adding a second from a penalty corner.
The second period was one-way traffic as Loughts played some of their best hockey of the season to race further ahead thanks to efforts from Shenarda Dedic and Sarah Smith.
Two yellow cards late on and some slack defending failed to sour what had been an otherwise thoroughly convincing result and performance.
Next up is a trip to Tunbridge Wells.
It was a different story all together for Old Loughtonians Men, who surrendered a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 against Brighton and Hove.
Ahead in the latter stages, poor defending afforded the visitors the space required to turn a one-goal deficit into victory.
