Beal High School of Redbridge were victorious in the sportshall athletics competition at the Balfour Beatty Youth Games finals last Tuesday.
The competition, held at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace saw Beal High School beat rival schools from other London boroughs to take the victory in the boys' year seven event with 223 points.
Sportshall athletics incorporates variations on traditional track and field events and includes several relays, shot, standing triple jump and standing high jump.
Aaron Chandler, a PE teacher at the school said: "We won the Redbridge heats, did really well in the heats at the Copper Box and I didn’t think we’d win today, but we’ve managed it.
"Champions of London sounds brilliant!
"It’s good that we have got a year group together that’s won it.
"I’m really pleased for the boys, they put in so much effort and train so hard."
