Andrew Walpole (left) and James Drain.

ANDREW Walpole from White Oak Triathlon Squad secured an excellent top 10 finish at the Sevenoaks annual spring triathlon last weekend.

Walpole finished seventh overall out of 250 competitors and sixth in the male 19 to 39 age group.

The result capped a great performance and shows how well Walpole's winter base training has gone this year.

Close behind was James Drain with a very creditable 15th overall, pipping Formula One drive Jenson Button by one place in the final event rankings.

Drain used the event as part of his training build-up to the world championships in Vancouver in June.

Roy Knight showed his preparation for Vancouver is also on track by coming 10th in his age group.

White Oak's representation was completed by Lara Hawkings, who posted a very credible eighth place in the female 19 to 39 category.
