 |
| David Reader (above) placed ninth at the Meridian 10k |
MORE than 500 runners enjoyed the scenic yet challenging course of the Cambridge Harriers-organised Meridian 10k in Greenwich Park.
The race was comfortably won by Ben Noad of Highgate Harriers in 32m03s, 1m55s ahead of second-placed Martin Gaunt of Serpentine.
Nomi Warner of Thames Hare & Hounds was the first woman to cross the line in 37m01s.
David Reader was the first Cambridge Harrier to finish with a ninth-placed effort overall in a time of 35m48s.
New club member Clem Dixon was the next Cambridge Harrier to come home in a time of 38m25s, followed by Liam Corcoran in 39m07s, both finishing in 22nd and 25th place respectively.
Meanwhile, many personal bests were achieved by Cambridge Harriers runners competing in the Oostende to Brugge 10-mile race and the Reading half marathon. The best of these came from Matt Winn-Smith, running the 10 miles in Belgium in 57m38s, while Brinsley Gunning completed the Reading event in 1hr28m26s.
