Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst was “surprised” by Lee Bowyer’s time-wasting comments after their win over Charlton.
Jon Nolan’s 80th-minute winner gave Shrewsbury a 1-0 lead heading into the play-off semi-final second leg on Sunday.
And Addicks caretaker manager Bowyer accused the Shrews of slowing the game down from start to finish.
“I’m surprised at that,” said Hurst when asked about Bowyer’s comments. “He’s a very, very experienced player and now a manager.
“We were never going to come and rush things when you've got 180 minutes to play. I don't think I’ve seen teams do a hell of a lot worse.

“I was surprised right at the end that they kind of left one person back when the whistle went at the death from a corner.
“Had it been maybe 30 seconds longer, we could have had the opportunity to break.
“It felt like almost the point where you are really trying to get an equaliser, which I kind of understand, but don't go 2-0 down and make the job harder. So I’ll take it with a pinch of salt.”
