Reeco Hackett-Fairchild is hoping to earn more first-team chances after netting a brace against Swansea U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy last night.

The Charlton striker’s two goals helped the Addicks to a 3-2 win over the Welsh club to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Hackett-Fairchild, who joined Charlton after a successful trial last year, has made eight senior appearances this season.

The 19-year-old forward told Valley Pass: “At Charlton, there is always a chance that you could break in [to the first-team].

“Multiple players have done it this season, so everyone has just got to get their heads down and work hard. I know that if I’m doing the right things then the gaffer will give me a chance again.

“I’ve managed to get off the mark for goals and now I need to keep going.”
