Three matches in, two wins and a loss… and fans seem to be worried.

Yes, we have two suspended players, we have moved on Tony Watt and our newest signing Ben Reeves is still behind on fitness.

But there are 44 more league games, further cup matches and maybe, three further play-off ties in May.

What do I say? Relax. So, just because we lost a match to some farmers, it doesn’t mean we are going to have a bad season. I always cringe at the thought of checking the #CAFC hashtag on twitter after a loss.

We have the quality to destroy any team in this league, but we also need to be aware that we will not win every game this season. If we did, I would get a tattoo of every player’s name on my body - thank God we no longer have Anil Koc playing for us.

What we need to do is take the Plymouth defeat on the chin. It was a bad day at the office and I bet my bottom dollar that each player will be determined on Saturday to beat Northampton – I’m tipping Ricky Holmes to take down his former club.

Let’s look at the positives - Tariqe Fosu - he looks like a talented winger who is going to wow the Valley crowd. Billy Clarke looks useful, he likes to link up play and can score scrappy goals. Those scrappy goals win you games, and if he can do that more often this season then great.

Having ‘Gary’, also known as Ahmed Kashi, back in the defensive midfield role, other than a few stray back passes, has been a pleasure to see. I wouldn’t want to play against him.

We obviously need a striker to replace Watt – and I think we’ll get one.

Let’s turn up on Saturday, make some noise, get behind the team and walk away with smiles on our faces.

I have seen so much more positivity from fans this season, and I’ll tell you now, I like it. Don’t hang on to a sinking ship just to stay relevant on Twitter and Charlton Life, but jump on the pleasure cruise back up to the Championship.

I will see you all on Saturday - come on you Reds!
