Tom Elliott wants to hit double figures in his debut season with Millwall.

Elliott, 26, opened his Lions account with a brace against Stevenage in the Caraboa Cup on Tuesday evening.

And the big striker has revealed the impact Millwall boss Neil Harris has had on him since signing for the club earlier this summer.

Elliott enjoyed the most prolific period of his career last season, netting 13 times for AFC Wimbledon. And he hopes to continue his goalscoring form for Millwall.

He said: “He’s been great for me, I’ve never done so many shooting drills in my life and he’s always joining in. That’s a great thing for me, he wants his strikers to put the ball in the back of the net.

“Over my career that’s the one thing I’ve lacked. I’ve been a threat to defences but once you go into the higher leagues you have to start to add goals to your game.

“You have to get into double figures. I did it last year and am hoping to do it again this year. I want to see where I can go.

“The gaffer works with us, we do so many striking sessions a week, so he makes it easier for us to be comfortable in front of goal because we’re used to it in training.

“I want to have a successful season with Millwall and get into double figures. That would be a good goal for me.”
