Partick Thistle managing director Ian Maxwell admits the club will have to listen to offers for reported Charlton target Liam Lindsay.

Lindsay, 21, scored seven goals from defence in the Scottish Premiership last season.

And the Jags want to keep their star man, who is under contract until 2019.

But Maxwell said: “It’s very much where we are in the football food chain, if you like.

“There’s always going to be people looking at clubs like Partick Thistle. If you look at Liam, for example, he’s done really, really well this season. He’s improved.

“If somebody is going to come and make us an offer for Liam then we have to consider it, we’re not the kind of club that can’t.

“You want to see continuity, in terms of players coming in who are always attracting interest and moving on.

“That has to be the business model for clubs of our size.”

Charlton already have a number of centre-halves with Patrick Bauer, Jorge Teixeira, Jason Pearce, Harry Lennon and Ezri Konsa fighting for places.
