Harry Lennon believes Charlton will have a successful season if they keep in-demand duo Ricky Holmes and Ezri Konsa.

Holmes is wanted by Championship new boys Sheffield United and Premier League clubs have sent scouts to watch Konsa at the Under-20 World Cup.

The 29-year-old winger was the Addicks’ top scorer with 13 goals last term, while Konsa impressed in his debut season at the Valley.

And Charlton defender Lennon, 22, knows how important the pair will be to the club’s promotion hopes.

He said: “They did really well last season and it’s normal in football that they’d start getting interest from other clubs.

“But I think if we keep them and have them for the future, then that will be positive for next season.”

Charlton finished 13th in an underwhelming 2016/17 season in League One.

Addicks boss Karl Robinson wants to bring in new faces over the summer to aid a promotion push.

And Lennon, who has not played since November due to a serious groin injury, insists a top six finish is a minimum expectation for Charlton next season.

He added: “We’ve got to be looking at the top six. Anything lower than that won’t be a good season.

“It’s not an easy league to get out of, but a club like Charlton should definitely be aiming for promotion.”
