Neil Harris heaped praise on Steve Morison after the striker’s late goal at Wembley secured Millwall’s promotion back to the Championship.
The tie appeared to be heading for extra-time before Morison rifled home from close-range with just five minutes remaining.
Morison has played over 200 games for Millwall in three separate stints at the Den, and Harris stressed his importance to the club after the 1-0 win at Wembley.
"He’s our talisman," Harris said. "I carried it for a period here as a player.
"For me, at any club – but especially at Millwall – you have to have a focus and a main man, the leader.
"Steve would be the first to admit he’s not the best player on the pitch but he’s an integral part of how we play.
"He’s absolutely phenomenal for us. When we needed that moment of magic, he was the man today."
The Lions, who were beaten in the League One play-off final last year, had to dig deep after Bradford wasted several fine chances to take the lead.
Harris added: "I’m a happy manager today. I’m delighted with the character, not just today, but throughout the season.
"To bounce back from last year, with difficult spells throughout the season, shows the enormous spirit and desire in the camp.
"When we’ve needed a performance, and a moment, my players have delivered."
