Leyton Orient have received two bids for the club from an un-named American company with the second coming as recently as last night.

The East London Guardian Series understands the company has met the valuation set by owner Francesco Becchetti but no response has been forthcoming as of yet.

It is claimed Orient CEO Alessandro Angelieri contacted the publicly listed company last week to sound out if they would be interested in submitting an offer.

An initial bid was made but was met with 'radio silence' and was followed by a second on Sunday night.

But the company has still not received any correspondence since the initial contact.

Last Wednesday, the E10 club were served a winding up petition from HMRC over what is believed to be an unpaid tax bill of £125-250k.

The club and the creditors are due to appear in High Court on Monday, March 20.

The Italian owner put the club up for sale in January and it is believed he wants to recoup the £4million he spent on its purchase from former chief Barry Hearn in 2014 just after they were one spot kick away from the Championship.

Since then he has overseen nine managerial changes, a fan protest and was served with a six-match ban for kicking then assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler.

The club have been approached for a comment.
