PAUL Lambert has distanced himself from speculation linking him with the Scotland job and turned his full attention to tomorrow's League Two encounter at Stockport.
The Daily Mirror exclusively claimed this week that the 38-year-old Wycombe boss is high on the Scottish Football Association's wanted list as they hunt their new manager.
Lambert said: "It is my country and it is an honour to be linked but I think I'm a million miles from it.
"Would I turn it down? I will wait to see if I am asked first but it is pure speculation."
The story claimed the SFA were wowed by Lambert's achievements in guiding Wycombe to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup last year and by his playing pedigree.
Lambert, pictured right, won 40 Scotland caps and played 193 times for Celtic as well as winning the 1997 European Cup with crack German side Borussia Dortmund.

But Wanderers have had no approach from north of the border and Lambert says he hasn't had any contact with the Scots either.
