Jimmy Dack's first home game in charge of Sutton United brought their ninth league and cup reverse in a row on Saturday.
Craig Dundas had given United an early lead, but Welling United came back strongly.

United's frustration saw them finish with 10 men after Alan Bray was dismissed for a reckless tackle on visiting substitute Ellis Green three minutes from time.
Once again Sutton started brightly and they took a 12th minute lead.
Nicky Greene's superb crossfield pass released Jerson Dos Santos down the right and Welling failed to clear the cross, allowing Dundas to take one touch before lifting the ball into the roof of the net - his 10th league goal of the season.
But Welling were soon level after Bray's clumsy aerial challenge on Orlando Smith produced a free kick. Robbie Ryan produced a superb curling strike that gave keeper Phil Wilson no chance.
There was little to choose between the sides in the rest of the half, although United went close when Rob Hughes' free kick deflected off the defensive wall and just wide of keeper Jamie Turner's left hand post.
Turner then reacted well to save Greene's 20-yard strike which had deflected goalwards off Dundas.
Welling finished the half stronger as Leon Solomon found space on the left of the area, but his shot was well saved by Wilson.
Solomon continued to be the major figure at the start of the second half as well as he struck the woodwork twice in the opening five minutes.
First, his a deflected shot from the edge of the area hit the bar on its way over.
Then Solomon's far post header from a corner smacked back off the same piece of wood.
While Welling were cursing their luck it might have been worse for them, as Liam Wright then chased a clearance and forced an error from Michael Kamara, who then seemed to hold the Sutton player back as he hit a shot that Turner was down to his left to push round the post.
The decisive moment came just before the midway point of the half when Smith, who moments earlier had fired a 25-yard volley just wide, had better fortune.
Sam Gargan outwitted Jamie Whisken and crossed from the left, and although Bray headed clear the ball was knocked back in behind him and Smith turned in past two defenders before drilling a low shot in to the net.
Welling should have put the game beyond reach six minutes later when a left wing free kick was nodded back across goal but Gargan nudged it wide from inside the six-yard box when it seemed easier to score.
While United kept looking for an equaliser they created few clear chances, with the promising Dos Santos and Dundas both denied by tackles before they could get shots in from good positions.
Three minutes from time United lost Bray, who on another day might have escaped with a yellow card for his challenge on Green.
Even with ten men they almost snatched a point when Dundas shot straight at Turner when a free kick fell to him just outside the six yard box.
