The Kooks fans have descended on the Tram and Social in Tooting for a secret gig by the band.
Word has finally slipped out that about the gig that drew indie rockers from all over London on July 10, enjoying a song list including hits “Always where I need to be” and “She moves in her own way”.
The band, who are originally from Brighton and have had several chart-topping singles, chose the venue themselves and loved it so much they now hope to shoot their next video there.
Bar manager Anthony Gunson said: “It was intimate. Just 100 people were watching this global band who had come to Tooting.
“It was very special. We’re hoping to do more gigs will big bands.
“It’s very exciting for the area because there are plenty of young people here but up until recently there’s been nothing for them.”
The gig was organised for Capital Radio competition winners as part of a summer tour, bringing indie bands and singers to smaller venues across the capital.
Jemma Pike of Capital Radio said: “We want to spread the love and do this all around London. We chose the venue because it was quirky, individual and suited the style of The Kooks.”
