Hayes and Yeading United cruised to an emphatic 5-1 victory at Newport County in the Blue Square South on Saturday to maintain their promotion push.
The visitors needed only eight minutes to take the lead as Esmond James' cross was half-volleyed into the net by Steve Perkins.
But the home side levelled in the 28th minute when Craig Reid ran through the defence and slotted past Delroy Preddie.
United restored their lead six minutes after the restart when Scott Fitzgerald cut the ball back for James Mulley to finish smartly.
They added the third on 63 minutes when former Watford striker Fitzgerald fired home confidently. He added his second of the afternoon within 60 seconds when Steve Jenkins missed the ball and Fitzgerald netted.
The last goal of the match arrived in the 71st minute when Josh Scott headed in Danny Allen-Page's cross.
