Potters Bar suffer heavy defeat at Tring Park in Home Counties Premier League Division One
2:10pm Wednesday 20th June 2012 in Barnet
Potters Bar’s unbeaten run in Home Counties Premier League Division One came to an abrupt halt as they fell to a nine-wicket defeat at Tring Park.
The hosts showed exactly why they currently sit second in the table as they elected to bowl and made some good early progress on the Bar order.
Opener James Kettleborough was the only one to show any early resistance as his knock of 54 was coupled with a collection of low scores.
With the visitors struggling at 48 for four, George Scott arrived at the crease and his 51 helped improve the scoring until Kettleborough was eventually caught off the bowling of George Harper (three for 56).
Marc Milligan’s 18 showed some determination at the bottom of the order but his wicket was finally taken by Tom Helm (four for 33), leaving Bar dismissed for 162.
Tring made light work of the chase as they eased their way to the target inside the 31st over.
Fahim Qureshi was the only batsman to fall, with Tanweer Sikandar (one for 40) the only one of eight bowlers to take a wicket.
Bar will look to get back to winning ways at The Walk on Saturday when they host Bishop’s Stortford, who sit one place below them in the table.
