Dagenham & Redbridge have completed the signing of midfielder Matthew Saunders on an 18-month deal.
Previously at Premier League side Fulham, Saunders was released at the end of the last season and has been searching for a club since.
The 22-year-old failed to make an appearance for the Cottagers but did play 19 games in all competitions for Lincoln City in the 2009/2010 campaign.
Speaking about completing the deal, Daggers’ boss John Still told the club’s website: "Matt Saunders is a player who we wanted to sign at the start of the season, he trained with us in pre-season but unfortunately picked up an injury.
“He's now fully fit, he's an all action midfield player who can pass, move, get around the pitch and I think he'll be a good addition.
“Especially when you think that we're so light in that area, Luke Howell has just started training, Peter Gain is still probably a month away from being involved and Kevin (Maher) perhaps even longer.
“Eoin (Wearen) & Ahmed (Abdulla) have both gone back to West Ham now as well so we've been looking to bring someone in, Matty's been back training with us for a while now and I think he'll be ideal for us. He's a young player with great potential".
