TERRY'S TALK: It was good that we could make a point at Northampton

THE boys managed to get another positive result on the board at Northampton on Saturday and showed great character to hold on in the first half.

It is never an easy place to go, and I don’t think I’d even managed to come away with a point from there before.

It certainly didn’t look good after they took an early lead, especially as they went onto pretty much dominate the first half.

But the boys clung in there and showed the fighting spirit we have now built up.

And having got the equaliser just before half time through JJ it was us who looked like we would go on and win the game.

But it was still a good point and that makes it seven games unbeaten and the mentality and confidence is certainly there to keep it going.

Of course it was a big blow to see Jason pick up his fifth yellow card of the season, because he now misses the game with Cheltenham on Saturday.

I know it looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but I think Jason’s commitment to win games comes through and that is why he picks up these bookings.

The one on Saturday though seemed a bit harsh and had it happened earlier in the game, I’m sure the ref would have let it go.

It will certainly be a big loss to the team because Jason has been playing really well this season.

It is a big game for us as well, because Cheltenham are one of the sides that are in and around us in the table at the moment.

Hopefully a positive three points could also be the catalyst for another big month for us, because when you look at the table we are still in a bit of trouble despite our recent run.

But that is the thing with this league – it is all so very tight. Other than Leicester, everyone else has been beating each other.

So hopefully the fans will get right behind us again like they have recently at home and like they did once more on Saturday at Northampton.

After my revelation last week about Solomon Shields and Loick Pires’ dancing antics on the training ground the other week, I have made the suggestion that the pair of them should put on a Christmas dance for us.

I’m expecting something good from them as they’ve got a couple of weeks now to sort out their routine.
