TERRY'S TALK: Great Cup win will help to give our league form a big lift

IT was another excellent result by the boys at Colchester on Saturday and another win like this will only help boost the confidence in the camp.

I know they haven’t started the season as well as they would have liked but Colchester have begun to pick up results at their new ground so it was always going to be a tough places to go to.

But once again we nullified them to hardly any chances at all and really must have frustrated them.

OK we didn’t create as much as we would have liked going forward, but when you stay solid at the back like we've done in the last couple of games you always have a chance of nicking a result.

Earlier in the season we were defending poorly and giving ourselves too much to do in games.

But now we look far harder to break down and like on Saturday we have people in the side like Jason who can come up with a bit of magic.

And it now seems like we are starting to put together that run of results we've been talking about for so long this season.

Maybe this can be the turning point for us and it is nice that we are getting the results all the coaching staff deserve for the hard work they have put in.

The draw certainly wasn’t kind to us again on Sunday, because Bradford away is going to be another very tough game for us.

But that isn’t on our minds at the moment, because we've got a massive match at Crewe on Saturday.

It is a bit of an early relegation dog-fight and if we can hopefully keep our run going it will give us a bit of daylight between us and them if we come away with the three points. Lastly I have to say that young Jason and Cat [Glenn Morris] are two of the biggest card sharks I know.

The pair of them come up with new games to play on the coach and once again on Saturday, me and Boydy were left sat there as the pair of them kept changing the rules to the game every five minutes so they could win.

The trouble with them is that they are also really tight, because even though we only play for a couple of quid they don’t leave you alone until you pay up either.
