Haylock urges side against complacency

HAYES and Yeading United manager Garry Haylock is determined to keep his players' feet on the ground despite their fourth successive win after demolishing Bromley 6-1.

United moved up to 11th and within four points of the Blue Square South play-off spots after goals from James Mulley, Josh Scott (2), Kieran Knight, Staforde Palmer and Ram Marwa handed them their biggest win of the season on Saturday.

But Haylock insisted: "We cannot rest on our laurels and we need to kick on from this. Where we are in the table is adequate but we want to push on from here. If we think we now have everything sussed it will just bite us on the backside."

United visit Fisher on Saturday in their best form of the season with only four points separating the two sides in the table.

Haylock said: "It is just another game for us. It is no more important than facing Lewes or Sutton. We know that we are good enough to beat anyone on our day but it is just about keeping that consistency."

Haylock has moved swiftly to add to the squad by signing winger Joel Ledgister from Oxford United on a one-month deal. The 20-year-old made 11 appearances at Oxford this season after joining from Ebbsfleet United.

"He has blistering pace and that is always an asset," Haylock added.

"Joel also has great crossing ability and it is just about whether he can deliver for us but he is young, hungry and has a good attitude."
