HAYES and Yeading United defeated St Albans 2-1 in the Blue Square South last night.
Two goals in three minutes sent United on their way to the three points despite a dogged fightback by the struggling visitors.
Will Hendry opened his account after 56 minutes before Josh Scott added a quickfire second. The hosts even managed to miss a penalty when Scott blasted over the bar.
Lee Clarke pulled one back for the Saints but United held on to climb up to 12th in the division.
