Sean Murray starts for Watford but five new signings miss Crystal Palace opener

Only two of Watford’s new signings will start in the Championship opener against Crystal Palace.
Manuel Almunia and Almen Abdi are fit enough to start but all the rest have been left out due to injuries or fitness issues.
Matej Vydra is on the bench but we believe he has been left out because he had only played 45 minutes prior to last week’s game, when he played the full 120 minutes.
Ikechi Anya travelled with the squad and was warming up with the squad but he was left out – the same could be said for Ross Jenkins .
The other four new signings – Daniel Pudil, Fitz Hall, Steve Leo Beleck and Alex Geijo – were all major doubts, or had been ruled out, going into the contest.
Sean Murray did start though after recovering from his calf problem and joined Mark Yeates and Joe Garner in the Hornets front three.
Palace: Speroni; Ward, Ramage, Martin, Moxey; Dilgacoi, Jedinak, Garvan, Par; Zaha, Wilbraham.
Subs: Price, Wright, O’Keefe, Appiah, De Silva, Parsons, Sekajja.
Watford: Almunia; Doyley, Nosworthy, Taylor, Dickinson; Eustace, Hogg, Abdi; Yeates, Garner, Murray.
Subs: Bond, Thompson, Hodson, Forsyth, Smith, Vydra, Iwelumo.
Referee: Andy D’Urso.

This isn't the 1970s anymore.
It is also worth considering that a lot of our signings aren't fit yet, I'm sure Zola doesn't really want to play the likes of Garner or Yeates but until everyone is fit he has to make do with what he has at his disposal.
