Tottenham Hotspur’s Steven Caulker and Danny Rose both featured as Team GB’s men’s football side advanced to the quarter-final after a 1-0 win against Uruguay.

Caulker started in the heart of defence alongside Manchester City’s Micah Richards while Rose was introduced from the substitute’s bench with 12 minutes remaining in place of Craig Bellamy.

A goal in first-half stoppage time from Daniel Sturridge settled the match and secured Team GB’s path into the quarter-finals.

Stuart Pearce’s side will take on South Korea on Saturday (August 4) as they look to advance to the last four.
