Watford to play Everton in semi-final of Northern Ireland Milk Cup

Watford Under-15s will play Everton in the semi-finals of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup after reaching that stage of the competition for the first time since 2009.

It is the sixth year in a row the Hornets have taken teams to Northern Ireland for the prestigious competition.

Barry Quin’s Watford side started the group stage well with a 2-0 victory over Queen of the South at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Sunday, with goals from Andrew Eleftheriou and Max Makaka.

Then on Monday Ogo Obi scored a hat-trick as the Hornets brushed aside County Armagh 4-0, with Carl Stewart also getting on the score sheet in Coleraine. The Golden Boys completed their final Milk Cup group stage match on Tuesday afternoon as they drew with fellow English side Ipswich Town. The clash finished 1-1 in Portstewat with Obi netting his fourth goal of the tournament.

The semi-finals take place today at 7:30pm with a possible final place against either Liverpool or Brentford up for grabs.

Great tournament lads.

With the first team squad in the Republic, maybe a visit from Zola to inspire them for a place in the final?

It's amazing that a team apparently comprised of anagrams is doing so well!

Good luck boys. I'm sure you'll do us proud!
