Redknapp still excited by FA Cup

SPURS boss Harry Redknapp is dreaming of Wembley again.

His side fought out a 0-0 draw with Fulham in the quarter-final of the FA Cup at Craven Cottage on Saturday, and Redknapp cannot wait for the replay at White Hart Lane later this month.

Of course, there is now an even bigger incentive for Redknapp, with former club Portsmouth, who he led to FA Cup glory two years ago, awaiting the winners in the semi-final.

Redknapp said: "This is a fantastic competition. Ask any fan and this means a huge amount. We want to get to Wembley again, for sure.

"We're at home now and we'll look forward to it, but we know it'll be another tough game."

The semi-finals of the FA Cup are now played at Wembley, so victory over Fulham would see Spurs return to the national stadium for the third year running, having reached the Carling Cup final in the last two seasons.

Saturday's match at the Cottage was a passionate and frantic affair, but short on clear-cut chances.

Redknapp said: "We had a lot of possession, a lot of the game, but it was a fair result."

The winners of the replay on March 24 will fancy their chances of going all the way to the final. Having avoided Chelsea and Aston Villa, who go head to head in the other semi-final, relegation-bound Pompey is the easier match . . . on paper at least.

Before then, Redknapp has to focus on securing a place in the top four of the Premier League. A home game against Blackburn Rovers is next up this Saturday.
