NOISY neighbours, bars and restaurants has led thousands of furious residents to lodge complaints making Haringey the country's second noisiest borough.
The revelation follows a Freedom of Information (FOI) request which shows that 9,500 residents have been compelled to report a disturbance to Haringey Council.
And for every 1000 residents, 42 complaints ranging from barking dogs, loud building work and even complaints about noisy televisions were submitted over the past 12 months.
Under the Environmental Protection Act local authorities are responsible for investigating complaints regarding noise if it is damaging to health or a nuisance.
A council spokesman said: "We know how disruptive noise can be for residents.
"We deal with thousands of complaints every year. The vast majority are handled without the need for an enforcement notice by way of a warning letter. Usually talking to the person creating the noise or the threat of a notice is enough for them to stop.
"Safer Neighbourhood Police also joins the service at peak periods over the weekends which increases our effectiveness at providing relief at the time the noise nuisance is occurring, without the need for a enforcement notice.”
Haringey Council said its enforcement teams is able to respond to 90 per cent of calls within 30 minutes.
If warnings are ignores, the officers have the power to issue Fixed Penalty Notices of up to £100 for residents and £400 for businessed.
They could also be fined up to £5,000 and £20,000 respectively.
