Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson is hoping to pair former Kingstonian striker Andre McCollin with Charlie Moone in a Ryman Premier dream team next term.

Dowson, who is in talks with Moone to extend his stay at the club, met with McCollin on Thursday in a bid to persuade him to sign.

The former Yeovil Town striker, who was prolific at Ks, made 28 appearances and scored four goals for Aldershot Town last season but was released this week.

“He was great for me at Kingstonian and I’m putting my hat in the ring to get him to Hampton,” said Dowson.

“I am probably one of a long list of managers hoping to sign him, but it would be massive to bring him here.”

Dowson fired the first shot in the race for Ryman Premier League supremacy this week by signing Ks star Josh Casey.

The left midfielder signed on at the Beveree on Wednesday to become the first new face at Hampton this summer.

Former Aldershot Town youngster Casey, who can also play in defence, was Dowson’s number one transfer target.

Casey said: “Dowse was a major factor in persuading me to join Hampton.

“He’s ambitious for the club. He will not settle for mediocrity, and so he and I are similar in that respect.”
