Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani believes his side's 1-0 win at Coventry City tonight is their most important result since taking charge.

The O's climbed out of the relegation zone and up to 18th in League One after a late Josh Wright goal snatched victory at the Ricoh Arena.

Liverani said: "It's probably the most important result and the one that might determine more in terms of the relegation battle."

The Italian added: "It was a very important game. It was a six pointer and these three points are extremely important for us. It feels like we recovered those three points we lost at home against Barnsley and the draw that we deserved at Crawley so it's very important.

"The spirit of the players has never been lacking since I've arrived. It's the reason I was always happy to stay even when there were moments when we were struggling and losing games. This spirit was always present and tonight we got three points."

Jobi McAnuff started the match despite only returning to England yesterday following international duty with Jamaica while Ryan Hedges came off the bench just 24 hours after playing 90 minutes for Wales Under-21s against Bulgaria. Liverani reserved special praise for their unexpected contributions for the O's.

Liverani said: "Dean Cox unfortunately had a problem with his hamstring in the warm-up. He was meant to start but the fact he didn't proved we have a great team of professionals like McAnuff who played for Jamaica.

"He came back and gave everything on the pitch and Hedges played 90 minutes yesterday for Wales and he gave everything so the fact one player was missing showed strength from the other players."
