Boss Mark Warburton hailed the Brentford way of playing football after the dramatic win over Fulham last week.

Goals from Harlee Dean and Jota turned a 1-0 scoreline on its head at Griffin Park to extend the Bees’ 100 per cent record in the Championship to four games.

However, when Dean’s mistake allowed Hugo Rodallega to open the scoring for the west London rivals, things could have been different.

But Warburton did not mind the mistake, and he would not have minded it if it had led to defeat.

He said: “We had to be brave. People talk about Harlee’s pass, but I don’t mind that, I’d be more concerned if he didn’t want the ball.

“Mistakes will come and he’ll learn from that, and it was a tremendous reaction from him to get the goal.

“You cannot say to people, be brave, get on the ball but don’t make a mistake – it doesn’t work that way.”

He added: “It was all about the players and the character and the commitment they showed.

“First half I thought we were excellent, we created a lot of chances and their keeper was outstanding.

“We started the second half well, but there was a 15-minute period, where they went a goal up.

“We were deeper, we weren’t moving the ball around with the same purpose or precision, and we paid the price.

“For them to come back in that manner was excellent.”
