Former West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison is close to being offered a permanent contract at Championship side Ipswich Town after impressing on trial, according to the Ipswich Star.
Collision, who made over 100 appearances for the Hammers after progressing through the club’s youth system, played 90 minutes for Ipswich’s Under-21 side on Monday and held talks with manager Mick McCarthy after the game.
It is understood that a deal for the 25-year-old could be completed next week.
The Upton Park fans’ favourite scored 14 goals in all competitions for West Ham but was released at the end of last season.
