Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas described Gareth Bale as "tremendous" after the winger scored two including a stunning late winner in a 3-2 victory against West Ham.

Villas-Boas said: "He is a great, great talent and to see him keep trying until the last minute exemplifies the talent that he is.

"For the [second] goal he comes short to receive it, takes it forward, is fouled in between, gets up which normally he has been getting some stick for staying down, gets up, gets on with business, receives it and scores a great goal.

"He is a tremendous talent for sure."

The Portugese head coach believes Bale's form this season has been particularly good.

"He is at a tremendous level this season, he is really enjoying his football," he said.

"I think when you are able to make the player so comfortable things can only get better and I think it's down to him, his motivation, and I think in the end what the team wants to achieve, because the team is also creating a lot for him and he is able to make the difference."
