Leyton Orient have signed former Brighton defender Romain Vincelot until the end of the season.

The versatile Frenchman, who can also play in midfield, was released by Brighton last month and has agreed a deal to move to Brisbane Road.

The 27-year-old made 61 appearances for Dagenham & Redbridge after moving to England in 2010 before joining Brighton. Vincelot spent a couple of months on loan at Gillingham earlier this season.

Orient boss Russell Slade told the club website: "Romain is a great signing for us, he has an excellent attitude and will give us versatility. He’s played in midfield or across the back four at Championship level so he’s got good experience and he can score goals too.

"I’ve admired him for a while since his time at Dagenham & Redbridge and if he impresses during the time he is here then we will do all we can to keep him at the football club."
